DUKE LAVERY LIVES Sort of…

First, while Auntie misses Duke, this is just for fun. Auntie Shoe is not a writer for any publican, except her own blogs and descriptions of her designs on products, Tweets, etc. Her blogs exist for her own entertainment, as well as a place to talk about her designs in a non-offensive or pushy way.

The writers on the ABC television show, General Hospital, do a fine job of creating predicaments for the characters there. Auntie knows people are allowed to write fan fiction, but she does not know if she is allowed to do it in regards to General Hospital, especially as she designs stuff for CafePress for GH and, if you purchase one of her designs, is paid. And, no one answered her Tweets on the matter. Soooo, she is going to write something and if anyone at GH is unhappy with it, they will tell her soon enough and Auntie will take it down. And, thus, we begin…

DUKE LIVES, NOW

Just how Duke Lavery remains among the living is, indeed an interesting story. You see, in Port Charles there is a Greek Taverna run by Theía Papoútsi. That is Greek for “Auntie Shoe”, and, most people in Port Charles call her Auntie Shoe. No American can properly pronounce Theía Papoútsi, unless, of course, they have Greek genes.

Auntie is Greek. She was Nicholas Cassadine’s nanny when he was growing up in Greece on Cassadine Island. She helped Laura as much as she could when Nicholas’ mother was a prisoner there. When Auntie came to America some ten years ago, Laura and Nicholas helped her to get settled and set her up with a business. That would be a very popular Greek Taverna called, “Theía’s”.

Everyone in Port Charles goes to Theía’s. Everyone. The hospital staff goes there as often as they go to Kelly’s, The Floating Rib, or the Metro Court. All of these businesses thrive in Port Charles.

Now, Auntie is a bit eccentric. She is harmless, but she does travel to the beat of a different drummer. She lives at the taverna. The basement has a lovely apartment for her, just right for a single lady on her own. There are, of course, various tunnels and underground ways to other parts of Port Charles. Because, you see, unbeknownst to Laura, Nicholas, Anna, or anyone else in Port Charles, Auntie is a retired WSB agent.

Nicholas was her charge. She was to protect him and she did her best to do so. She was a perfect spy for the WSB and kept them up to date, as best she could, on what atrocities the Cassadines were thinking of committing. And, like Olivia Jerome, Auntie has an undying love for Duke Lavery. Every night, she makes him the perfect martini. Because, you see, Duke lives in the basement with Auntie.

He is not exactly her prisoner. He is not exactly free. Well, he is tied up, so, yeah, I guess he is her prisoner and she is more bonkers than one cares to admit because, well, she is very lovable.

Now, how in the name of all that is good and holy did a cremated Duke end up tied in a basement of an eccentric Greek lady’s taverna? Funny, you should ask. Interesting story.

See, Auntie has been in love with Duke since he was Cesar Faison. And, then, afterwards, when he was really Duke, too.

But her Cassadine contacts were always present. No one in the Cassadine family ever knew, nor do they know now, that Auntie was in the WSB. So, she had their confidence. And, Victor, when he was living in Port Charles just before he got blown up, told her about Robin’s work on the Resurrection Juice. Using her feminine wiles, Auntie was able to procure from Victor the recipe for said juice.

Being trained as a doctor and researcher, she, with the help of her not-so-good friend, Dr. Olbrecht, was able to whip up a batch of Cassadine Resurrection Juice just for Duke’s use. The not-so-good Doctor Olbrecht was the last person to be alone with Duke’s deceased body. The doctor simply told everyone that Duke was cremated, provided an urn of ashes to Anna, and moved the body to Auntie Shoe’s basement.

Duke is fine. He gets a perfect martini every evening. Two if he is good to Auntie, nevermind what that means.

But, rest easy because DUKE LIVES!!

Will he ever see Anna again? Will Auntie ever come to her senses and release Duke from captivity? And, what about the fact that her basement is often used by the WSB to hide those in need of a safe house?
